The third Volcandpark conference took place in Jičín, Czech Republic (Bohemian Paradise UNESCO Geopark) in May 20–24, 2024. The conference focusing on development of protection and propagation of volcanic geoheritage hosted 28 attendees from 11 countries and 4 continents.
The conference programme combined alternating two field-trips, two lecture-days, and one day left for open discussions. The talks covered wide spectrum of topics focusing on various aspects related with volcanic geoheritage from geology of attractive volcanic landscapes to management and communication of volcanic geoheritage. The pre-conference field-trip demonstrated some historical aspects of preservation of volcanic geoheritage in Central Europe, while the intra-conference field trip then focused rather on up-to-date techniques of communicating volcanic geoheritage.
