The Czech Geological Survey (CGS) maintains and manages databases on objects (interventions into the Earth‘s crust – boreholes, wells, trial pits, etc.), which it selects from reports and assessments that must be submitted to the CGS Geofond Archive according to the act on geological work and the state geological service and according to the decree on geological documentation in the Czech Republic. Information from the databases is provided to all interested persons either as paid data outputs (see Provision of Data) or as basic data on objects, which can be viewed free of charge in the Borehole Surveys map application.
The data for selected objects are stored by the CGS in the Geologically Documented Objects Database, which includes the Borehole, Shaft and Well Record Database, Hydrogeological Database, Database of Downhole Geophysical Logs and Database of Samples – Drill Cores stored in the CGS repositories.
