For geological applications, the Optical Microscopy Laboratory allows for the observation and photo documentation of geological samples – thin sections, polished sections, solid and clastic sediments at microscopic scale. The observation and photo documentation can be commissioned, or performed with assistance or without assistance after training.
The laboratory provides services mainly to internal staff members, but smaller contracts may also be arranged for individuals as well as the cooperation with science, education and popularization departments.
