CGS Publishing House

The Publishing House of the Czech Geological Survey is the largest publisher of geological literature in the Czech Republic and also provides multimedia content promoting CGS projects and geology as a field of study.

It releases expert publications dedicated to various Earth sciences, geological and thematic maps at various scales, and popular science and education literature, including those using modern technologies such as augmented reality. The publishing house presents the research results of CGS specialists to the public through geoscience exhibits, fairs, conferences, educational activities, the CGS information portal and social networks.

Book and magazine production

For authors and editors of publications and other types of printed materials, we provide all services related to their editorial preparation and production (proofreading, typesetting, graphic design). Prices are set individually based on specific requests.

Sales

Books, maps and equipment for geologists can be purchased in the Geological Bookstore or through the CGS online shop. In addition, a selection of semi-precious gemstone jewellery and samples of rocks, minerals and fossils are available only in the CGS Geological Bookstore.

CGS Printing Centre

The CGS Printing Centre offers a complete range of printing services including business cards, colour brochures, posters up to A0 format and large format plotter prints, as well as scanning and copying of documents. Printing on canvas is also possible by prior arrangement. Printing work is performed with a modern certified Konica Minolta Bizhub C6501 printer and we also offer bookbinding services (V1, V2 binding). Prices are listed on the CGS Printing Centre price list.

Promoting CGS projects

The CGS Publishing House conducts promotional activities involving projects carried out by the Czech Geological Survey. This mainly includes the printing of promotional posters and leaflets, the publishing of reports promoting the content of projects, and the organizing of project-related events.
