The aim of the art competition for schools proclaimed by the Czech Geological Survey in the framework of activities of the International Year of Planet Earth, is to popularize geology among broad public, namely children. The compatition reminds of the importance of the geosciences for the sustainable development worldwide, limitation of the natural risk, rationalization of construction and exploitation of natural resources. The deadline of the competition is on April 23, 2007.
