Pavel Kavina
At the prestigious invitation of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Geological Survey (CGS) delegates Jan Černík and Pavel Kavina attended the Sarajevo Energy & Climate Week 2026, held from September 22 to 24, 2026.
Participating in the high-level panel discussion titled Modern and Responsible Mining in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Region, Dr. Pavel Kavina delivered a compelling address on the Czech Republic's potential in critical raw materials, highlighting key national strategic lithium and manganese projects designated as European Strategic Projects under the Critical Raw Materials Act.
In addition to the main panel, the event featured a specialized session on the Geothermal Resources of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted by the Federal Institute for Geology. Attended by a distinguished audience of approximately twenty representatives from Bosnian institutions and private enterprises—including both national geological surveys, cadastral and mining authorities, and private mining companies — the session showcased the outcomes of the joint Czech-Bosnian initiative Innovation of Geological Information Systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is implemented by the CGS and funded through the Czech Republic’s Official Development Assistance programme.
