The research and survey of geomorfological and hydrogeological condition in the lower part of the Piura river aimed to lower environmental factor limiting social and economical development of the region is the main project concept. The region Piura is distinctly affected by the shortage of both drinking and supply water and at the same time by extensive floods bearing on the phenomenon of El Niňo. Recently the second running part of the project focuses mainly on the field works comprising geomorfological, geological, hydrogeological documentation and mapping of the entire studied area larger than 6000 km2.
