The monograph represents an attempt to provide structured information on the research status of plutonic and orthogneiss bodies primarily in the Czech part of the Bohemian Massif. The manuscript is divided into six parts: bohemicum, moldanubicum, saxothurigicum, lugicum, moravo-silesicum and brunovistulicum.
All parts of the atlas result from a compilation of published information and data without any attempt on the part of the authors to critically classify and correct them. Basic parameters of the individual plutonic bodies are accompanied by geological sketches, classification diagrams and tables of the chemical composition based on 4,500 chemical analyses of the major elements including accessible trace elements. A list of references is an integral part of the atlas.
Atlas will not be published in printed version but will be available freely on the Czech Geological Survery web pages.
We are aware of a number of inadequacies with regard to the large extent of the monograph; our work therefore needs many corrections. However, we are convinced that presentation of the atlas in electronic form (on a CD) at this stage will establish interactive communication between its administrators and users, especially from abroad, and that new supplements and comments will be acquired. Therefore, we cordially invite you to be a part of the “living” compendium focused on granitoids of the Bohemian Massif.
Do you have data that should be added to this atlas or that change text, tables and figures?
