The Director of the Czech Geological Surveys and recent President of the EuroGeoSurveys Dr. Zdenek Venera presented the recent mission of the Geological Surveys in the European Parliament in Strasbourgh. In the framework of the Scientific and Technological Assessment Panel on October 25, 2007 he held a lecture „Europe Beneath Our Feet“ focused on practical tasks and benefits of geology and Geological Surveys for the sustainable development of the society. The participants of the Panel chaired by the previous Commissionaire for Research Philippe Busquin appreciated the presentation and took interest namely in more information about CO2 capture and storage and about soil research.
