Researchers from all over Europe have met in Venice from 9th to 11th May 2011 to present and discuss the state-of-the-art on CO2 geological storage, a key technology for abating CO2 industrial emissions. Presentations from the Forum are now available at www.co2geonet.eu covering the following areas: European research projects, research trends and funding schemes in Europe, status of pilot projects, field experiments and large scale demos of the EEPR and NER300 program, status of the legislation at European and national level. The organisers, CO2GeoNet (the European Network of Excellence on CO2 Geological Storage) and CGS Europe (the Pan European coordination action on CO2 Geological Storage www.cgseurope.net) together represent 34 research institutes spanning 28 European countries, pooling long-standing experience on the topic and widespread exchange. Czech Geological Survey is a partner of CGS Europe. For more information: info@co2geonet.com.
