Implementation mission in Zvornik completes installation of new IT infrastructure

On November 13–14, 2024, an implementation mission took place in Zvornik, successfully completing the installation and basic configuration of newly acquired IT equipment for the Geological Service of the Republic of Srpska (RZZGI).
The main goal was to build a robust and secure IT infrastructure. As part of the mission, a server room with adequate cooling and network connectivity was set up, and key hardware components—servers, storage systems, firewalls, and switches—were installed and connected. The mission also included practical training for RZZGI employees, focusing on user management in Active Directory, basic VMware environment management, and working with the ST1 data storage system.
Both organizations also agreed on further steps: the preparation of detailed documentation, the continuation of online workshops, and the gradual migration of existing systems to the new infrastructure.
This step represents a significant shift towards a modern and reliable IT infrastructure that will enable more efficient work with geoscience data and increase the capacity of the local geological service in the future.
