Ian Jackson, BGS Director of Information, presented on October 17 at the Czech Geological Survey in Prague the lecture "A vision for geoscience information - The view from a small island" devoted to collecting, management and delivery of geoscience data and information in the British Geological Survey. He touched also more general problems which recently geological surveys must solve. One of these problems - the EU directive INSPIRE - was a topic of his second talk in Prague.
