The Czech Geological Survey has published an updated version of the Geological Map of the Trans-Altai Gobi at a scale of 1:500,000. The map originally published in 2008 was completely sold out. The preparation of a new edition allowed to refine the age and lithostratigraphic classification of some geological units in the area, which covers a substantial part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve "Great Gobi"in SW Mongolia.
