Vladimír Žáček
Project of the Czech Development Cooperation with Mongolia "Geological mapping 1:50 000 and the assessment of economic potential of selected region in Western Mongolia (Mongol Altai 50)” was successfully defended before the expert committee at the meeting, which took place at the Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar on September 22, 2016. The project was carried out in the years 2013–2016, and a total of 32 experts from four countries, together with 40 other co-workers and technicians participated in the project. Altogether 19 young Mongolian geologists were trained in the field during the project implementation.Five basic geological maps at a scale of 1:50 000 were compiled of which editors were D. Buriánek, P. Čáp, I. Soejono, T. Vorel and V. Žáček, and 60 maps of geochemical anomalies including maps assessing mineral potential of the area were constructed under supervision of P. Bohdálek and V. Pecina.Relevant presentations of the results achieved during the project implementation were given by V. Žáček, project manager and P. Bohdálek, chief of economic geology, during the meeting, while the expert opinions were presented by B. Delgertsogt, Ph.D., and Dr. B. The Czech Geological Survey was represented by Z. Venera, the Director and P.
