Czech Geological Survey Signs MoU with the Geological Survey of Ethiopia

On 22 April 2026, the Czech Geological Survey signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Geological Institute of Ethiopia, opening new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of geology and mineral resources.
The agreement focuses primarily on collaboration in geological mapping, exploration and assessment of Ethiopia’s mineral resources, with particular emphasis on critical raw materials, geothermal energy utilization, and geological data management. The cooperation is based on the principles of partnership, efficiency, and transparency, and contributes to strengthening relations between the Czech Republic and Ethiopia.
The signing of the memorandum represents an important step towards the long-term involvement of the Czech Geological Survey in professional activities in Ethiopia and the development of systematic international cooperation in the geosciences.
