Czech Geological Survey receives prestigious Map of the Year 2025 award

The Czech Geological Survey (CGS) has achieved a significant success in the Map of the Year 2025 competition. The map Geological and Hydrogeological map of Ethiopia 1 : 1 200 000 received a prestigious award granted by the Czech Cartographic Society to the best cartographic products created in the Czech Republic. The competition annually recognizes the highest-quality map products and highlights the outstanding standard of cartographic work.
The jury particularly appreciated the precise processing of geological and hydrogeological data, the clear and visually high-quality presentation of the map, as well as its overall contribution to both the professional community and the wider public, including in an international context. This achievement is the result of the long-term work of the authoring team and confirms the high level of expertise and international reputation of the CGS in the field of geological and other specialized mapping.
