Czech Geological Survey involved in European hydrogen storage research
Vít Hladík
CGS participates in Hystories – a European project focusing on hydrogen storage in porous geological structures, namely in depleted hydrocarbon fields and aquifers. This option is particularly important for countries and regions where the geological conditions do not allow for application of the only technology proven so far – hydrogen storage in salt caverns. The project is funded from the Horizon 2020 programme through the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking. It is planned to last 2 years. The French company Geostock is the coordinator; 22 partners from 16 countries participate.
