Czech Geological Survey for the first time at IPTC in Dubai, UEA

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai at December 4-5,2007 International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) was held in Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), UAE. The general theme of this conference was “ A Changing World - Interdependence, Innovation and Implementation sponsored by AAPG, EAGE, SEG and SPE. Over the 2000 participants from 40 countries and all around the world had a chance to listen to technical, thematic scientific and regional papers focused on exploration and production and alternative sources of energy, environmental impacts of such production and exploration and world economics including the oil reserves prediction, revision and calculation. Based on the position of AAPG European Region Treasurer/Secretary this conference was visited by Vlastimila Dvorakova from CGS who also represented CGS and its regional activities in this area including the mapping survey and supervisory work and training in Iraq and Iran. The next IPTC conference will be in 2008 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
