CGS working mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina: support for the modernization of geological systems
Václav Pospíšil
On June 3–5, 2025, CGS specialists Václav Pospíšil and Richard Binko visited partner institutions in Sarajevo and Zvornik as part of the Innovation of Geological Information Systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina project, supported by the Czech Development Agency (ZRS ČR).
The aim of the mission was to resolve technical issues related to the installation of information infrastructure at both partner sites. The configuration of the firewall, VPN settings, and access points were addressed, as well as testing system resilience. The possibilities of deploying the ArcGIS Enterprise platform for spatial data management were also discussed.
The project contributes to strengthening the professional capacities of both geological services and creates a basis for the long-term sustainable management and accessibility of geological data in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in line with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
