The Czech Geological Survey (CGS) organized a coordination meeting for the project Innovation of Geological Information Systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 27–28, 2026, in Prague. The meeting focused on evaluating the results achieved so far, the sustainability of the project, and the future direction of cooperation between the participating institutions.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring the continued use of the outputs created after the end of the project and the possibilities for further professional cooperation. Key topics for future development were discussed, including mineral resources and monitoring of the mining environment, assessment of geohazards using modern technologies, and hydrogeology, including geothermal energy. These topics are to form the basis of a new memorandum of understanding between the CGS and partner institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The program also included a professional workshop focused on the practical outputs of the project, such as data models and cartography, a metadata catalog, a digital archive, QGIS training, and web content management. The meeting confirmed the mutual interest in continuing long-term professional cooperation.
