The current edition of the Annual Report of the Czech Geological Survey 2007 in English surveys the whole range of CGS activities in the period of 2005-07. The Report results from the demanding and long-lasting cooperation of CGS experts in various geoscientific fields as well as the staff of the Publishing Department, who have contributed to the final form of the publication. Acknowledgements should, above all, go to the graphic designer, MgA. H. Neubertová, and the editor, Mgr. Š. Doležalová. The themes covered by the publications span the complete spectrum of activities performed within CGS. They range from geological mapping reports, regional geological research, global changes or environmental chemistry and biochemistry to services provided by CGS, whether it be laboratories, geodata services or publication and promotional activities. The accent was put on CGS international activities, participation in international specialist boards, the projects within the International Development Cooperation and mapping carried out by Czech experts abroad. The Annual Report also outlines the administration of regional geologists, CGS organizational structure and informs of funding and the staff. Also, the Report became part of the CGS presentation at one of the most prominent geological events, the 33rd International Geology Congress in Oslo, August 6-14, 2008.
