CGS Specialist recognized the stability of slopes after the August floods

In the connections with the conclusions of the Central Crisis Committee the Czech Geological Survey was in the second half of August 2002 enthrusted with the assessment of possible occurrences of hazardous localities from the point of view of the origin of landslides and rock collapses along the slopes of water reservoires of the Vltava dam cascade between Vraný nad Vltavou and Orlík.
The comprehensive CGS report was presented at the final session of the Central Crisis Committee on 19 August 2002 and it helps as the basis of the assessment of other field activities connected with the solutions of unstable slopes in the vicinity of the Vltava dam cascade.
